Your technical challenge: Design of ultra-low noise - low power analogue circuitry
As IC designer with EPCOS, you will be involved in all phases of development from pre-study to evaluation of ICs. You will have responsibility for design documentation and ensuring that it is reviewed by your colleagues. You will select the topology which is most suitable for the complete system, and you will design and perform the layout of blocks, so it complies with block specifications. You will also have contact with product development to ensure the optimal utilization of the ICs.

Required education

Highly experienced in analogue IC design
The most important qualification for this job is a comprehensive knowledge of and experience in IC design and IC design flow in combination with a real passion for this field.


You are familiar with several of these standard blocks:

  • Low noise, low-power op-amps
  • Bias references
  • Voltage regulators
  • Voltage doublers
  • Reference oscillators
  • Sigma delta converters

We also expect that you:

  • Have a good theoretical foundation
  • Possess a broad knowledge of circuit topologies
  • Possess CMOS fabrication process knowledge

It will be an advantage if you have already worked in the microphone field, designing preamplifiers, Sigma Delta Modulators or similar blocks for MEMS devices, and have experience in digital design and signal processing.

You may have worked for several years in a business where the focus is on analogue IC design or have a Ph.D. within IC design.
Personally, you are the type that sees the benefit in cooperating and mutual knowledge sharing with your colleagues, and you have a positive attitude. You have a sense for detail while still being able to meet your deadlines. In relation to experience, you are able to handle several tasks simultaneously without losing perspective or sense for detail.

During the course of a year at EPCOS you will be typically involved into:

  • 1-2 ASIC projects aimed at product development
  • Up to 3 MPW runs aimed at development of ASIC sub-blocks for new product generations
