TDK Corporation presents the world's first ferrite cores that enable additional copper losses to be reduced by up to 70 percent. The core design using distributed air gaps permits higher operating frequencies and smaller inductive components to be used in power supply systems.

Voltage protection devices: Compact high reliability chip varistors for automotive

TDK Corporation announced the expansion of its lineup of chip varistors for automotive applications. The AVRH series offers a maximum operating voltage of 19 V to 70 V and a capacitance ranging from 4.7 to 50 pF. The miniature voltage protection device is available in IEC case 1005 (EIA 0402) with compact dimensions of just 1.0 mm x 0.5 mm x 0.5 mm.

TDK Corporation presents the new B32355C* series of EPCOS MotorCap motor run capacitors, which are designed for a high continuous operating temperature of 100 °C. They are based on a metalized polypropylene film, feature self-healing properties, and conform to Safety Class S3 as specified in IEC 60252-1.

Pressure sensors: Miniaturized sensor dies for automotive and IoT applications

TDK Corporation presents new miniaturized EPCOS MEMS pressure sensor dies. The automotive versions of the C33 series boast dimensions of just 1 mm x 1 mm x 0.4 mm, making them one of the smallest of their kind. The low-profile C39 type, with dimensions of 0.65 mm x 0.65 mm x 0.24 mm is especially suitable for IoT and consumer applications.

2017 TDK Sensors Developers Conference

TDK’s wholly-owned subsidiary InvenSense, a leading provider of MEMS sensor platforms, is hosting the 2017 TDK Sensors Developers Conference (SDC) under the theme, “World of Sensors.” As one of the world’s largest MEMS and sensors developers’ conferences, the SDC will introduce new sensor technologies and solutions from the TDK Group, including TDK, EPCOS, ICsense, InvenSense, Micronas and Tronics products. EMC components: High-impedance chip beads with lowest DC resistance

TDK Corporation announced the development of the MMZ0402EUC series of chip beads, with the lowest DC resistance for a chip bead its size. The two new types with their respective impedance values of 150 Ω and 180 Ω at 100 MHz, feature DC resistance values of only 0.62 Ω and 0.69 Ω.

Overvoltage protection: Varistors with increased permissible operating temperature

TDK Corporation presents leaded EPCOS metal oxide disk varistors, which have now been approved for an increased operating temperature of 105 °C (previously 85 °C). The reason for this is the recertification of the B722* series of varistors in accordance with UL 1449, 4th Edition, and IEC 61051.

Current protection devices: Extended range of PTC inrush current limiters

TDK Corporation has extended its range of EPCOS PTC-based inrush current limiters. The four new versions of the B5921*J0130A020 series with plastic housing are designed for voltages from 280 V AC to 560 V AC. The B594* and B597* series of leaded disk components offer rated voltages of between 260 V AC and 560 V AC.

TDK Corporation has significantly extended its range of EPCOS single-phase power capacitors for industrial electronics. The capacitors of series B32370* through B32374* are designed for rated AC voltages of between 250 VRMS and 600 VRMS.

TDK Corporation presents a new series of 3D transponder coils for passive entry passive start (PEPS) and other access systems. Measuring just 11.5 mm x 12.5 mm x 3.6 mm, the B82453C*A* series features six types of 3D transponder coils that offer sensitivity levels from 45 mV/µT to 83 mV/µT.

EMC components: World's smallest common-mode choke for automotive Ethernet

TDK Corporation presents the ACT1210L common-mode choke – the world's smallest of its type for automotive Ethernet applications. Its dimensions are just 3.2 mm x 2.5 mm x 2.5 mm, making it just half the size of the existing ACT45L choke which measures in at 4.5 mm x 3.2 mm x 2.8 mm. Series production of the new common-mode chokes starts in June 2017.

Angle sensors: TMR angle sensor with digital output

TDK Corporation presents the new TMR angle sensor TAD2141 with digital output. The new sensor offers a guaranteed accuracy of ±0.2° and at room temperature achieves the industry’s highest accuracy for angle error of only ±0.05°. The sensor is capable of contactless sensing 360° within a temperature range of -40 °C to +150 °C.
