Voltage Protection (TDK & EPCOS)

Voltage protection devices are used for protecting electronic circuits (particularly IC components) from electrostatic discharges (ESD) and voltage surges such as lightning surges. TDK offers a comprehensive range of products that includes CeraDiodes© for the ESD protection of data, audio and video lines in electronic equipment. Further varistors are used in power supplies and systems for power generation and distribution, as well as to protect the highly sensitive electronics in vehicles, household appliances as well as PCs and notebook computers. The lineup of varistors covers both SMD and leaded varistors, and even includes ring varistors for suppressing motor noise. Gas-filled surge arresters, in particular, protect telecommunications equipment and home terminals from damage due to voltage surges of the kind caused by thunderstorms.
